Nutrisystem – How Many Meals A Day?
I recently had a visitor to this blog ask me:
How Many Meals a Day do I Get on Nutrisystem?
If she had this question, I figured that other people probably did as well. This post will tell you what you need to know about how many meals you get a day on the Nutrisystem diet.
First of all – on the Nutrisystem diet plan, you’ll get around 3 actual Nutrisystem “meals” (as in breakfast, lunch and dinner) every day.
You’ll also get a snack/dessert as well that some people consider to be a “meal” as well. (On the Men’s plan you’ll also get a second snack or dessert included.)
This is the case for all 3 plans – Basic, Core and Uniquely Yours.
Now, there’s also Uniquely Yours PLUS.
This will give you everything you get with Uniquely Yours – breakfast, lunch, dinners plus snacks -PLUS it also gives you an extra shake during the day. So that would be 3 meals, 1 snack/dessert and 1 shake on this plan (or 5 “meals”).
So that’s what you get from Nutrisystem as far as meals. However on the actual Nutrisystem diet, you’re encouraged to add in a few of your own grocery items for snacks or mini-meals as well.
The idea on this diet is to basically eat 5-6 times a day – 3 meals and 2-3 snacks.
So for example you might have a Nutrisystem breakfast like Buttermilk Waffles. Then you might add in a snack yourself 2 hours later like low-fat yogurt with berries.

A few hours after that you might enjoy a Nutrisystem lunch like a Spinach-Pretzel Melt with a garden salad.
Then for your afternoon snack you might have a Nutrisystem shake (on the Uniquely Yours PLUS plan) or some carrots with hummus.
Then for dinner you might enjoy a Nutrisystem dinner of Roasted Turkey medallions with a side of grilled broccoli florets.

Following that before bedtime, you might enjoy a Nutrisystem snack/dessert of a Chocolate Brownie Sundae.
So that would mean you’re eating in total 6 mini-meals per day.
Also keep in mind that you can always add in a meal or snack yourself with non-starchy veggies, protein etc.
You can make up a healthy salad. I liked to make up veggie stir-fries with broccoli, zucchini, onions, cabbage, some grilled chicken and some garlic, onion, salt and other seasonings, depending on the mood.
So you can always add in veggie-meals or snacks if you get hungry as well. There is a lot of flexibility on this plan.
I hope that gives you an idea of how many meals per day you get with Nutrisystem.
