How are they different?
How do they stack up against each other?
And which is the best plan for you?
Nutrisystem updates their diet plans pretty much every year. For example, they replaced the old Select program with the Uniquely Yours plan this year.
So it can get confusing when you try to compare programs – there can be some out-of-date information out there.
With that in mind, here’s what you need to know about the latest differences between the Nutrisystem Core vs Uniquely Yours plans to help you find your best option:
Nutrisystem Core vs Uniquely Yours – Price
The Core option is Nutrisystem’s mid-level plan and comes in at a slightly lower price than the Uniquely Yours plan – around $10.54 per day.
The Uniquely Yours plan is more of the gourmet, premium plan option and comes in a bit higher at around $11.96 per day.
However it’s fair to note that you can get a discount on either plan by using this special discount link here – you’ll see that the prices have dropped lower than the daily standard prices above.
With both of these plans you get 5 Nutrisystem meals per day plus you add in fruits and veggies yourself for an extra snack.
Nutrisystem Core vs Uniquely Yours – Selection
A big difference between plans is the selection that you get to choose from. With both plans you get to customize your meals – so you can choose your favorites and swap out any meals you don’t like.
However with the Core plan you can choose only from the ready-to-go meals menu. There are no frozen gourmet meals allowed on this plan.
And you get over 100 ready-to-go meals to choose from. That’s a pretty good selection of meals.
However the Uniquely Yours plan also lets you have unlimited frozen meal and snack options as well as the ready-to-go meals. So you have a much bigger selection with over 150 meals to choose from.
Nutrisystem Core vs Uniquely Yours – Taste and Meal Quality
There is a difference in meal quality with these two types of plans. Frankly, the frozen meals are a bit more gourmet and taste better. (That is not on a meal by meal basis, just a general observation).
If you take a look at the menu page here and see the dieter ratings on each meal, you’ll notice that the frozen meals and snacks just tend to rate higher in general than the ready-to-go meals. They also tend to be a bit more gourmet and feel more substantial than the ready-to-go options.
For example, here’s a list of popular ready-to-go meals and snacks:
Double Chocolate Caramel Bar
Chili with Beans
Chocolate Flavored Pretzels
Chicken Pot Pie
Mac and Cheese with Turkey Sausage
And here are some of the popular frozen meals and desserts:
Thick Sliced French Toast
Mushroom Stuffed Chicken Breast with Veggies
Turkey Ham and Cheese Omelet
Roasted Turkey Medallions with Gravy and Mashed Potatoes
Chicken Parmesan with Spaghetti
Chocolate Brownie Sundae
Red Velvet Whoopie Pie
So as you can see, the frozen meals tend to rank better in taste and they also tend to be a little more gourmet and substantial.
And, while Nutrisystem used to limit the amount of frozen meals you could get with the old Select plan – you can get unlimited frozen meals and snacks with the new Uniquely Yours plan – which is amazing. For many people, this is worth the extra $1.50 per day to have this option.
What You Get With Both Plans
You still get the Lean 13 option with both plans – which is a kick start program to help you lose weight faster than the regular diet plan.
Both plans also give you unlimited access to counsellors and dietitians by phone as well as online tools to help you track your weight loss.
So you do get more support with both of these plans than you do with the Nutrisystem Basic option.
The real difference between the Nutrisystem Core vs Uniquely Yours plan is in the wider selection of more gourmet foods that you find on Uniquely Yours.
It’s also a huge upgrade that Nutrisystem has now added the unlimited frozen meal options on the Uniquely Yours plan as well.
So if you tend to need a bit more pampering on your weight loss journey with more gourmet meal options, then Uniquely Yours might be the right fit for you.
If you really don’t care (there are still lots of options on the Core plan) and you travel a lot (so you need more ready-to-go meals vs frozen), then the Core plan might be the best option.
Of course both plans give you the Lean 13 jump-start kit and Free FedEx shipping for life. But overall the plan that is best for you really comes down to your preferences, budget and lifestyle.
